WWW Wednesday is a bookish meme that was originally started by MizB at A Daily Rhythm, and revived by Taking on a World of Words.

The Questions

WWW consists of three questions:
1. What are you currently reading?
2. What did you recently finish reading?
3. What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading

My current read is The House of Tongues by James Dashner. Yes, the same one who wrote the Maze Runner series. This one is a horror novel and I’ve been trying to read it for a few months now. I’d originally gotten it from BookSirens, DNF’d it because I couldn’t get into it, and then got it again through NetGalley. I’m about 38% finished with it and it’s keeping my interest, so I think it was a matter of wrong book at the wrong time.

Another book I’m reading (honestly, I read too many at once) is a cozy/culinary mystery by Josi S. Kilpack called Key Lime Pie. So far it’s pretty good. It’s the 4th in a series, but the place i got it from doesn’t seem to have the first 3, just the last 6. Whatever. It’s cute and I like it so far. Plus there are recipes in the books.

Another horror, this time in the YA genre (at least from what I’ve been told). So far I’m having trouble getting into it, so either it’s not a book that’s for me or it’s “wrong book, wrong time” syndrome taking over again.

I’m also working on Mothered, which I was able to get through NetGalley. It’s another horror, but I’m sure anyone who has read Baby Teeth already figured that. So far it’s pretty good. I need to get back to this one pretty soon.

I just barely started this one – it was a book I saw recommended by a couple of horror BookTok accounts, and I found it on KindleUnlimited, so I decided to give it a shot. I don’t think I’ve gotten 3 pages into it so far, so I can’t say if I’m enjoying it yet or not.

Recently Finished

I got If Only a Heart through BookSirens and I have to say, I quite liked it. I need to review it still, but if you’re looking for short horror stories, this is a good one to look into.

What I’ll Read Next

Honestly, I’m not sure what I’m going to read next once I finish the ones I have in my currently reading pile. I have several books from the library that I probably should get to – I checked them out because I wanted to read them, but I also don’t want to, if that makes any sense. I might work on the Gunnie Rose books by Charlaine Harris as I have the first 3 books from the library. But we’ll see. I need to clear my currently reading queue before I start anything new.

Have you read any of the books I have listed here? If so, what did you think of them? And what are you currently reading, what have you finished recently, and what are you reading next?
