Sequestered in the blackness of the dreaded Tower of High Sorcery in Palanthas, surrounded by nameless creatures of evil, Raistlin Majere weaves a plan to conquer the darkness--to bring it under his control.

Crysania, a beautiful and devoted cleric of Paladine, tries to use her faith to lead Raistlin from the darkness. She is blind to his shadowed designs, and he draws her slowly into his neatly woven trap.

Made aware of Raistlin's plan, a distraught Caramon travels back in time to the doomed city of Istar in the days before the Cataclysm. There, together with the ever-present kender Tasslehoff, Caramon will make his stand to save Raistlin's soul.

Or so he believes.

So this one is taking me longer to read, which I’m not sure why because I’m interested in the story. I just can’t seem to get my butt in gear and read it. I’m in Book One, Chapter 6. I really need to move my butt on this one.

Scream meets Happy Death Day in this terrifying stand-alone horror novel from YA scream queen Danielle Valentine.

Alice Lawrence is the sole witness in her sister’s murder trial.

And in the year since Claire’s death, Alice’s life has completely fallen apart. Her parents have gotten divorced, she’s moved into an apartment that smells like bologna, and she is being forced to face her sister’s killer and a courtroom full of people who doubt what she saw in the corn maze a year prior.

Claire was an all-American girl, beautiful and bubbly, and a theater star. Alice was a nerd who dreamed of becoming a forensic pathologist and would rather stay at home to watch her favorite horror movies than party. Despite their differences, they were bonded by sisterhood and were each other’s best friends.

Until Claire was taken away from her.

On the first day of the murder trial, as Alice prepares to give her testimony, she is knocked out by a Sidney Prescott look-alike in the courthouse bathroom. When she wakes up, it is Halloween night a year earlier, the same day Claire was murdered. Alice has until midnight to save her sister and find the real killer before he claims another victim.

This one I’m about half finished with and I need to get it finished and reviewed by the end of this week because my review for it is due. Hopefully I can get off my butt and finish this tonight or tomorrow.

I'm a descendant of the Darling family and now I belong to him and the Lost Boys.War is brewing -- can the Never King get his shadow back and assume his rightful throne? And if he does, where will I fit?Or will all of Neverland be in jeopardy right along with my dark, twisted heart?

Glamorous messiah or charlatan? A mask of beauty hides deadly secrets in #1 New York Times and Amazon Charts bestselling author Gregg Olsen's mesmerizing novel of suspense.

In the Pacific Northwest, detective Lindsay Jackman is investigating the murder of a young journalist found at the bottom of a ravine. Lindsay soon learns that the victim was writing an exposé. Her subject: a charismatic wellness guru who's pulled millions into her euphoric orbit...

To hear Marnie Spellman tell it, when she was a child, a swarm of bees lifted her off the ground and toward the sunlight, illuming her spiritual connection with nature--an uncanny event on which Marnie built a cosmetics empire and became a legend, a healer, and the queen of holistic health and eternal beauty. In her inner circle is an intimate band of devotees called the Hive. They share Marnie's secrets of success--including one cloaked in darkness for twenty years.

Determined to uncover the possibly deadly mysteries of the group, Lindsay focuses her investigation on Marnie and the former members of the Hive, who are just as determined to keep Lindsay from their secrets as they are to maintain their status.

The third book in the Blind Rebels rock star romance series plunges drummer, Sammy, into an abyss of uncertainty after an accident threatens not just his life but the only safe place he has left. Despite the sudden dark storm that assumes control of his existence, a ray of sun peeks into his life from his past that might pull him out of the depths. Will his fears and past mistakes be too much to revive his rhythm?

Experienced paramedic Melody is a strong, confident, take charge woman who’s made it her mission to save lives, but knows from personal experience not all hearts heal, especially one damaged so long ago. Even if the heart beats again, so many things can go wrong and cause past lost love to flatline permanently.

SAMMY

After high school, three things mattered to me: my sister Sevenya, my drum kit, and my surfboard. With Sevenya in the passenger seat, we hightailed it to Los Angeles so I could chase my rock 'n' roll dreams. But I left a part of my heart on the beach.

Just as the Blind Rebels were gaining popularity, I suffered a crushing loss. One I didn’t think I’d ever recover from. I tried running to the ocean for solace, only for an accident to turn it against me.

MELODY

When it comes to relationships, I've learned it's best to keep my distance. Heartache takes many forms, so I've avoided it by perfecting the art of not getting too close. Instead, I focus on my career as a fire paramedic to help others, to make up for the one I couldn't save.

When I saw the surfer go down in the water, my instincts and training kicked in. I never expected that the life I’d be saving off-duty would be that of my high school sweetheart. He broke my heart then. I keep his beating now. Haunted by pains of our pasts, we're left wondering if a second chance is even possible after all these years.

This book is for an adult audience as it contains mature themes. Readers with sensitivity to drug use, alcohol use, cursing, violence of a physical and/or sexual nature being discussed or described may want to take that into consideration before reading this book.

It is ARC time for my good friend Amy, so of course, I’m reading it. I’m almost a quarter of the way through already and I just started it last night. I can’t wait to finish this one!

A #1 Wall Street Journal, Amazon Charts, USA Today, and Washington Post bestseller.

#1 New York Times bestselling author Gregg Olsen's shocking and empowering true-crime story of three sisters determined to survive their mother's house of horrors.

After more than a decade, when sisters Nikki, Sami, and Tori Knotek hear the word mom, it claws like an eagle's talons, triggering memories that have been their secret since childhood. Until now.

For years, behind the closed doors of their farmhouse in Raymond, Washington, their sadistic mother, Shelly, subjected her girls to unimaginable abuse, degradation, torture, and psychic terrors. Through it all, Nikki, Sami, and Tori developed a defiant bond that made them far less vulnerable than Shelly imagined. Even as others were drawn into their mother's dark and perverse web, the sisters found the strength and courage to escape an escalating nightmare that culminated in multiple murders.

Harrowing and heartrending, If You Tell is a survivor's story of absolute evil--and the freedom and justice that Nikki, Sami, and Tori risked their lives to fight for. Sisters forever, victims no more, they found a light in the darkness that made them the resilient women they are today--loving, loved, and moving on.

This one I saw on KindleUnlimited, although I’d also seen where Jamie had finished it, and decided I’d check it out. It was gruesome and sickening, even more so because it’s based on a true case. Ick…

The Dark One has finally accepted me…just in time for everything to change. Because Vane’s brother, The Crocodile, has just arrived on Neverland soil and he’s not alone. He’s brought with him members of the royal Darkland family and they want Vane’s Death Shadow back at any cost.

Of course, Peter Pan, Vane, Kas and Bash, they’re all familiar with war. But war isn’t easy when love is on the line.

I know those vicious Lost Boys would do anything to protect me. But what if I’m not the one that needs saving?

As power shifts on the island and shadows are claimed, all five of us have to let go of who we were, if we have any chance of becoming who we are destined to be.

NOTE: Their Vicious Darling is book three in the Vicious Lost Boys series. It is a dark romantic reimagining of Peter and Wendy. All characters have been aged up. If you like your enemies to lovers romance with hot, ruthless, morally gray love interests, you’ll enjoy Their Vicious Darling. You can expect an island with darkness and secrets and no true hero in sight, with a found family atmosphere, and ‘touch her and I’ll unalive you’ vibes. Their Vicious Darling ends on a cliffhanger.

This is the third book in the Vicious Lost Boys series, but it doesn’t come out until tomorrow. So this will be another one I read next after I finish The Dark One.

AN INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER!

The first daughter is for the Throne.
The second daughter is for the Wolf.

An instant NYT bestseller and word-of-mouth sensation, this dark, romantic debut fantasy weaves the unforgettable tale of a young woman who must be sacrificed to the legendary Wolf of the Wood to save her kingdom. But not all legends are true, and the Wolf isn't the only danger lurking in the Wilderwood.

As the only Second Daughter born in centuries, Red has one purpose—to be sacrificed to the Wolf in the Wood in the hope he'll return the world's captured gods.

Red is almost relieved to go. Plagued by a dangerous power she can't control, at least she knows that in the Wilderwood, she can't hurt those she loves. Again.

But the legends lie. The Wolf is a man, not a monster. Her magic is a calling, not a curse. And if she doesn't learn how to use it, the monsters the gods have become will swallow the Wilderwood—and her world—whole.

"If you ever wished Beauty and the Beast had more eldritch forest monsters and political machinations, this is the romance for you."―Alix E. Harrow, author of The Ten Thousand Doors of January

"A brilliant dark fantasy debut!" —Jodi Picoult, NYT bestselling author

For the Wolf is another book that has been on my NetGalley queue for far too long and needs to be read and reviewed. I actually own the Kindle version of both For the Wolf and For the Throne, so I plan to get them read sooner rather than later.

In this brilliant sequel to actor Luke Arnold's debut The Last Smile in Sunder City, a former soldier turned PI solves crime in a world that's lost its magic. The name's Fetch Phillips -- what do you need? Cover a Gnome with a crossbow while he does a dodgy deal? Sure. Find out who killed Lance Niles, the big-shot businessman who just arrived in town? I'll give it shot. Help an old-lady Elf track down her husband's murderer? That's right up my alley. What I don't do, because it's impossible, is search for a way to bring the goddamn magic back. Rumors got out about what happened with the Professor, so now people keep asking me to fix the world. But there's no magic in this story. Just dead friends, twisted miracles, and a secret machine made to deliver a single shot of murder. Welcome back to the streets of Sunder City, a darkly imagined world perfect for readers of Ben Aaronovitch and Jim Butcher.

Praise for Dead Man in a Ditch:

"Superb... With a lead who would be at home in the pages of a Raymond Chandler or James Ellory novel and a nicely twisty plot, this installment makes a strong case for Arnold's series to enjoy a long run." ―Publishers Weekly

"Arnold's universe has everything, including the angst of being human. The perfect story for adult fantasy fans—a tough PI and a murder mystery wrapped around the mysticism of Hogwarts, sprinkled with faerie dust." ―Library Journal (starred review)
