Blogtober: Top 5 Disney Villains

Ok, now this is an interesting blog prompt for Blogtober – not precisely bookish, but also bookish if you’ve been reading any of the Twisted Tales series of books. So here are my top five Disney villains.

#5 – Gaston – Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite movies. And I love to hate Gaston. He’s an asshat, there’s no two ways about it. He can’t get it through his thick skull that Belle doesn’t like him and he has the audacity to actually think he win her over by threatening her father.

#4 – Ursula – The sea witch is a nasty thing. She drives me crazy but she’s also an interesting character and I wish Disney would give us their version of a backstory for her.

#3 – The Evil Queen – We all know someone who is worried about being the prettiest girl in the room. That’s the Evil Queen in a nutshell. I don’t think she’d be nearly as evil if she wasn’t such a narcissistic witch. She became evil to ensure she remains the most beautiful woman in the kingdom.

#2 – Jafar – Another asshat, plain and simple. He’s another character I’d love Disney to give us a backstory for. I can’t believe he was always a villain. I want to know what caused him to become so money hungry. I want to know what caused him to become so manipulative. Maybe I’m weird, but I really want to know.

#1 – Maleficent – I’ve always loved this faerie-turned-evil-sorceress. After seeing Disney’s Maleficent, it makes more sense why she is the way she is. She isn’t really evil, she’s just been wronged. The only way she knows how to deal with her anger is to turn evil. That’s why she’s my absolute favorite.
